the biggest difference between ‘rape rape’ and just ‘rape’. and kristen schaal, will you be my best friend.
so, in case all you ladies out there thought your body’s legal rights were protected, or respected, in the USofA, here’s a bubble burster!
the recently proposed No Taxpayer Funding for Abortions Act is the republican attempt to make sure that only women who definitely weren’t asking for rape, or only victims of ‘forcible rape’, get their abortions paid for with government money. thus, quasi-rapes that result in pregnancy would eliminate the woman from paying for an abortion with tax dollars that should otherwise be spent on more god-friendly expenses.
surprisingly, i, like jon stewart, actually thought the word ‘rape’ already implied ‘forcible’ in it, but perhaps SAT vocabulary isn’t my strength. thankfully, kristen schaal brilliantly explained the difference among types of rape on the daily show last night, and you all should make sure you understand these distinctions (CLICK ON KRISTEN SCHAAL).
